an amazing evening with food, drinks, atmosphere and friends! Very worm and inviting service and atmosphere. Beautifully presented fresh sushi with a burst of flavor. The vibe is lively and fun. This Japanese dining experience is so exceptional that I only experienced in Tokyo. Very impressive quality nigiri, sashimi paired with an exceptional menu of Whisky and drinks! I can not get over it!

The black sabbath role was pretty good! I really really liked the vibes here, would love to come back (will i though?) Pretty pricey though, have been to other good sushi spots sf with much better prices w similar (or better) quality. Our server was attentive and super sweet but we felt like we were rushed to leave as we were done. Victoria's something was a one strong drink (tasted like martini)

Black Sabbath role is a must have- we weren't considering ordering it and thought it looked like an odd mix of ingredients but our waitress recommended it and it's soooo good. We now go to tsunami or order on DoorDash multiple times a month for this roll specifically. Other favorites: Happy Everyday and Papa San. Go Go sesame is also great, just one tier below the others in my opinion, but maybe that's because it's not spicy and I love spicy. Gyoza is good too. They also have a vibe-y dining room and great selection of sake.

Amazing place. I was surprised how broad variety of menu they have with good authentic sushi. Their fish were really fresh, and affordable price. Service was amazing, servers were always mindfully taking care of the customers, have a friendly yet professional attitude and really helpful with sake recommendations. I wanted to try sake but im not too educated. But my waitress helped me to choose really good sake and they have Bottle of Sake/wine and dozen oyster deal. Everything was absoluetly amazing and I was surprised how affordable this place was. Plus, good location. Underrated place with such good atmosphere.

I live in the area so I'm here a lot - This place is a hit for date night, happy hour, and group dinners. When I have family/friends visit from out of town - I always bring them here!! Happy hour is 5:30-7 with delicious options and great cocktails. The sake and shochu are delicious. The fish is always fresh and the staff is so nice and hospitable. If you're coming with a group I'd recommend reservations for sure.

17 years later and still damn awesome! Can't believe I've been here at least 12 times & this is my 3rd review, 17 years later. The place is still as fresh and fun as when it 1st opened. We stopped in before a show at the Independent (Milk Carton Kids and btw - amazing) to grab a light dinner. We were seated at a table in the window, where we've sat in the past. Music was upbeat and crowd had a great vibe. Although we eat meat (not often though) we opted for the "Vegetarian Nigiri & Maki Set" along withe seaweed salad, Ikura and cold sake. The eggplant maki (part of the veg set) was DIVINE. So satisfying, slightly sweet. The only thing I can't believe is that I wrote the original review 17 years ago! Time flies, but this sushi spot still shines. There's something special about longevity with a restaurant and how it can keep the quality, vibe and freshness (of food and environment) still going strong!

An absolute must try sushi spot in the city! And honestly, I think this is my new favorite. Everything was so tasty and FRESH. We ordered a couple of things off the menu here, haha. The service was great, our waitress made sure we had enough room on the table for more food. Ambiance during dinner time was nice and cozy. A really cool spot to catch up over good drinks and sushi!
